Mr. Somasundaram M.Chief General Manager (Aviation), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited

Sh M. Somasundaram holds a Graduate degree in Civil Engineering from the prestigious “National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli”. He joined Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in the year 1993 as an Aviation Officer in their Aviation Fuel Farm & Hydrant facility at Delhi Airport. He now has a rich experience of more than 32 years in the oil business.
At present, he is the Chief General Manager Incharge of Aviation Operations and Logistics, Aviation HQ of Bharat Petroleum – the position which he is holding since the year 2022. Since then, he is also the Aviation Quality Control Manager for BPCL appointed by the Director General of Civil Aviation, India.
Having headed major Aviation Fuel Stations across all four Regions of BPCL, he has gained a varied experience in the field of Aviation fuel handling. He has led large teams engaged in commissioning various key projects including Fuel Hydrant Systems and Cross-country Pipelines of BPCL.
Prior to taking over the current profile, Shri Somasundaram has also worked as General Manager Retail Operations at their Head Quarters, after helming some of the largest Oil Terminals in the world handling complex operations with all Automotive Fuels and successfully commissioned macro and multi-product Infrastructure projects.
